The History of the Establishment of the Famous Brand Levi's and Its Stores in Indonesia

Who doesn't know Levi Strauss & Co. Products made by Levi Strauss & Co. made from jeans in a denim style.

Reporting from Wikipedia, the first jeans were made by Levi Strauss & Co. in 1873.

That history precisely occurred on May 20, 1873 when Levi Strauss and tailor Jacob Davis obtained a patent for the use of rivets or rivets on the trousers they designed.

Levis CEO and Its Development

Jacob Davis was one of Levis customers, who at that time was selling goods. One day, the wife of a worker asked Jacob to make pants that could not be ripped for her husband.

Jacob was looking for a way to make his pants strong, and he came up with the idea of using rivets.

The result was as expected. So Jacob intended to register the invention for a patent, but he needed a business partner.

The thought of collaborating with Levi Strauss who then marketed the pants he made. The first jeans were made of blue denim, a material commonly used by field workers.

There was a gold rush on the west coast of America. So Levi, who concentrated his marketing in San Francisco, immediately gained a market because the jeans they made felt strong and suitable for workers.

The first jeans made were not serialized, only called XX. His strength makes Levi dare to use the symbol of jeans that are pulled by two ponytails but not torn.

The Levi's logo began to be worn in 1886 and is still found on every Levi's pants to this day.

It wasn't until 1890 that the pants, known as the XX, were given the 501 series, and became the most popular series in the world.

Now 144 years later, jeans have become a culture. Almost everyone has and wears it. The 501 series itself has been redesigned many times to suit the times and trends.

There are several things that make Levi's 501 a classic and iconic collection, such as:

Classic model

This series is called a classic based on its cut and color, and its versatility. Men can wear these jeans by folding the bottom or not. Another uniqueness of the 501 is that users can wear it according to their taste, depending on how often they wear and wash it.

So that the color does not fade quickly, users are generally advised not to wash it too often. But if you are happy with the look of jeans that look like they have been worn for a long time, you can wash them regularly until you get the faded impression you like.

Strong and durable

The stiff denim material, which is used to make these jeans, is indeed durable. These jeans are considered "stubborn" even if they are poorly cared for, and the stain will usually disappear with just a quick wash in the washing machine.

Generally a 501 will start to tear after one to five years (depending on how often you wear it). However, the color will fade faster before the material starts to rot.

Shrink to fit

Shrinkled clothing is usually considered a defect. But for Levi's, the shrinking material is precisely the invention that is the hallmark. This is because Levi's 501 uses raw denim or dry denim, which are made of stiff 100 percent cotton.

There are no additional stretches, so you should buy jeans in a larger size because this material will shrink. Raw denim also has another uniqueness, which is that it will automatically shape and print the wearer's body if it is cared for carefully.

The color fades beautifully

Raw denim is a denim material that is not washed after the dyeing process. Over time, the color will fade in the places where the pressure is most intense, such as the upper thighs (whiskers), the ankles (stacks), and the back of the knees (honey combs).

It is this naturally fading color that is much sought after, and even evokes a sense of pride in its fans.

Levi's character that is attached to the music world is the reason for Levi's Indonesia to hold Levi's Band Hunt.

Levi's collaborates with Universal Music Indonesia by presenting experts in the Indonesian music industry as a jury. They are Jan Djuhana (A&R Director, Universal Music Indonesia), Maliq & D'Essentials, and Ricky Siahaan (guitarist for the band Seringai).
